Chapter 1: In this chapter it focuses on being proactive,Being proactive is more than taking initiative. It is accepting responsibility for our own behavior and making choices based on whats best rather than on moods.For example drinking water instead of that yummy soda you saw at the store. Chapter 2: In the book chapter 2 it focuses on controlling your own destiny and defining your mission and goals in life. All things are created twice, first mentally,and second physically. Individuals, families, teams, and organizations shape their own future by creating a mental vision and purpose for any dream or spark. They don’t live without a clear thought in mind.In their minds they identify and commit themselves to whatever matters most to them. Chapter 3: In the third chapter it focuses on Putting important thing fist and the extra things later. Picture yourself on a bridge and you have two choices (1.Tie your shoe)(2.Help your best friend from falling off the bridge) .Most likely you would picked #2 because you care more about your friend rather than to stop and tie your shoe.Another example is would you (#1 Go to the movies with your friends)or(#2 Finish a project due in 2 days for one of your classes).This was a hard one but the correct answer would be #2 because your education always comes first. |
Chapter 4: In this chapter it focuses on to have a think win-win attitude.The foundation of thinking win-win is to get along with others.In a win-lose conflict you get what you want and the other person doesn't. An example is when a wild animal is chasing you and your friend in the woods. You think that you don't need to out run the animal only your friend. In this conflict one character wins and the other loses. In a lose-win conflict you lose and the other person wins.Last in a win=win conflict both characters come up with a resolution that they benefit from. Chapter 5: Chapter 5 focuses about seeking first to understand,then to be understood. The chapter talks about being a good listener and respecting people when they talk to you. Its disrespectful if use space out while a person is saying something important.To do this you have to give your full attention and not getting distracted so you can know all the information that was being told. This helps with learning information from teachers in school and, to understand it. |
Chapter 6: In this chapter it focuses on working together to achieve more . When two or more people work together to create a better solution then they could alone this is called synergy. You can spot synergy almost anywhere. In nature zebras and ox-peckers both work together to survive.Ox-peckers eat the ticks and bugs on the back of a zebra and alerting it from predators. The zebra provides a food source for the ox-pecker. Chapter 7: The last chapter focuses on caring for your body physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Doing this helps you not be stressed out,imbalanced, or empty inside.If you keep doing these it could harm you body and lower your life span. Eating healthy, exercise,good sleep, and relaxing can help your body physically. Educating yourself by reading ,writing,and learning new skill helps you mentally.You can care for your heart by building relationships,giving service,and laughing, and learning to love yourself.To benefit your soul you can meditate, keep a journal, pray, and take quality media. |
